TORONTO- MP Mark Adler is excited to attend Jamie and Alexandra Eckler’s 5th annual Lemonade Stand to raise money for Ve’ahavta, a Canadian humanitarian relief organization based in York Centre.
Jamie and Alexandra Eckler, ages 8 and 6, have raised over $13,000 for various organizations that support Toronto’s homeless. Their goal this year is to raise $20,000. To read more about these children’s amazing story please visit http://www.jaals.ca/.
Jamie and Alexandra’s school- the Montessori Jewish Day School- will participate in this year’s event. The school’s students have taken photographs depicting homelessness and are creating an exhibit to be displayed at the Scotia Bank CONTACT Photography festival.
“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to congratulate Jamie and Alexandra Eckler on their dedication to raising money to support Toronto’s Homeless,” MP Adler said. “These young Canadians exemplify our country’s values; kindness, empathy, determination and generosity.”
The Lemonade Stand and the photography festival will be held on May 5, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Beth David Synagogue in York Centre.
The event is being sponsored by Pikto Gallery and Henry’s Camera. There will also be live music, dancing and face painting.
