When I think of Israel

By Aaron:Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom Haatzmaut
When I think of Israel I think of…
The walls of the west,
The golden city,
Sadness overpowered by hope,
And banana farms.

Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom HaatzmautBy Shea:
When I think of Israel I think of the army.
I think of the brave people who would sacrifice themselves.
I think of a sweet land of many religions.

Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom HaatzmautBy Ron:

When I think about Israel I think about sun.
When I think about Israel I think about hearts.
When I think about Israel I think about apples
When I think about Israel I think about a pal.
When I think about Israel I imagine a burning bush.

By Jacob S:

When I think about Israel I think of chocolate milk.
When I think of Israel I think of my cousins.
When I think of Israel I think of Massada.
When I think of Israel I think of the Kotel.

Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom HaatzmautBy J:
When I think of the land of Israel I think of
A lot of fun small kids running and playing in the dawn of sunshine.
I think of people coming day and night to see the western wall. I think of, lots of beautiful trails and
trees, and nice views, and tall mountains.
I think of old and pretty large buildings, and when you climb to the top you can see what an old place.
Funny, it feels so comfy and sweet.

Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom HaatzmautBy Alexandra:
When I think of Israel I think of freshness and sunshine.
When I think of Israel I think of the land and architecture.
When I think of Israel I think of family, friends, and community.

What Israel Means to Me

By Malka:
When I think of Israel I think of all the pretty places I always wanted to visit.
When I think of Israel I think of the Torah and every person and site in the Torah.
When I think of Israel I think of how my ancestors lived there so it is sort of my home too.
When I think of Israel I think of G-d and how he brought us to his homeland.
When I think of Israel I think of the weather and how it is always beautiful.
When I think of Israel I think of the beautiful sights when you go on the hiking trails and anywhere else.

Different Names of Israel

Poems by Upper Elementary on Yom HaatzmautBy Hannah:
Come to the land of milk and honey.
Come to the land of freedom.
Come to the land of songs.
